Privacy Policy

When you create an account, subscribe to a plan, or contact support, we collect your name, email address, payment information (processed securely via our payment provider), and any messages you send us.

To deliver our core service, we collect OBD-II fault codes, live sensor readings (RPM, ECT, MAF, O2, TPS, and others), VIN numbers, vehicle make/model/year, diagnostic session logs, and any photos or CSV files you upload for analysis.

We automatically collect device type and operating system, IP address, browser type, pages visited and time spent, feature interactions, and crash reports. This helps us improve performance and fix issues.

With your permission, we may collect approximate location to provide local repair cost estimates and nearby mechanic recommendations. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Your vehicle and diagnostic data is used exclusively to generate AI-powered diagnostic reports, repair recommendations, cost estimates, and predictive maintenance alerts. We do not sell raw diagnostic data to third parties.

Anonymised and aggregated diagnostic data may be used to train and improve our diagnostic AI. Your personal identifiers are removed before any data is used for model training. You may opt out of this in your account settings.

We use your email to send service updates, diagnostic summaries, billing receipts, and — with your consent — product news and tips. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.

We analyse usage patterns to detect and prevent fraudulent activity, abuse of our platform, and potential security threats.

GaugeAI does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or diagnostic data to any third party for their marketing purposes.

We share information with trusted vendors who help us operate — including cloud hosting (AWS), payment processing (Stripe), analytics (anonymised), and customer support tooling. All providers are contractually bound to handle data securely and only for the purposes we specify.

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of GaugeAI, our users, or others.

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you via email and/or a prominent notice on our website before your data is subject to a different privacy policy.

Required for authentication, session management, and core functionality. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

We use anonymised analytics to understand how users interact with GaugeAI. No personally identifiable information is included. You can disable these via our cookie banner or your browser settings.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party ad networks on our platform.

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active, plus 90 days after deletion to allow for account recovery. After that, personal identifiers are permanently removed.

Your diagnostic session logs are retained for 2 years by default to power historical trend analysis and predictive maintenance features. You can delete individual sessions or your full history at any time from your account dashboard.

Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained indefinitely for model training and product analytics.

You have the right to request a copy of all personal data we hold about you, in a machine-readable format. Submit a request from your account settings or email us at privacy@gaugeai.io.

You can update your account information directly in the app at any time. If you believe other data we hold is inaccurate, contact us and we will correct it promptly.

You can delete your account at any time from account settings. This will remove your personal data within 30 days, subject to legal retention obligations (e.g. billing records required for tax purposes).

You can opt out of having your anonymised diagnostic data used for AI model training in Account → Privacy Settings.

If you are located in the EU, EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights including the right to restrict processing, object to processing, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact privacy@gaugeai.io to exercise these rights.

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3 and at rest using AES-256. Diagnostic data is stored in isolated, access-controlled environments. We conduct regular third-party security audits and penetration tests.

In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it, in accordance with applicable law.

GaugeAI is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in the GaugeAI app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
